The 2016 staff meeting was a meaningful time of collaboration on global leadership issues, best practices, curriculum, organizational structure and the future of DAI. It also provided the rare opportunity for many to meet colleagues from around the world for the first time.
A new workshop on Spiritual Formation, specially designed by Russian speakers for Russian speakers, has been piloted over the last year and is in growing demand wherever it’s being offered. The course uses an adapted curriculum, face-to-face meetings, online sessions and peer mentoring relationships. God is using the course to help these leaders experience His love and healing power in deep ways they never expected. Praise Him!
“I have worked for the Church all my life, but it was the Spiritual Formation course that helped me understand God’s love for me,” shares Roman Popov, DAI Consultant in Russia.
DAI is blessed to have Dr. Seung Lee working with us. He is focused on serving Korean missionary leaders around the world. Servant Leadership workshops a re now taking place in Korea, the Philippines and Japan. As the relationships and interest grow, so will the leaders. This is a new audience, and privilege, for DAI.
DAI was officially registered this year in Sri Lanka and Myanmar, and now has full time staff at work in each country. While DAI has been serving leaders in these areas, through the MAOL and a few non-formal workshops, we will now be able to meet the needs of more Christian leaders as a result of indigenous staff and volunteers speaking local languages, designing their own strategies and reaching into the rural areas of each country.
During the Egypt meetings, a curriculum development workshop provided the rare opportunity for DAI staff working with children from five different countries, to meet together. They outlined the first DAI course ever designed for children, on Servant Leadersh ipl It will be completed in partnership with “Children in Christ” (CIC), a ministry to thousands of children across Africa, and then made available to the rest of DAi’s staff and partners by early next year.

New staff representing DAI’s ministry centers in Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina and Peru joined us for their first international staff meeting. As a result of the amazing growth in this region, hundreds of leaders have begun receiving DAI training throughout Latin America.
Esau Aguilar, new Ministry Center Director for Mexico, expressed with joy that he quickly felt at home with his new multi-cultural family-even if only a few spoke Spanish!
