DAI's academic partners in Pakistan, ZBS, have shared with us the great need. They are trying to help provide food for the day laborers who live near them who now cannot work due to Covid-19 restrictions and the complete lockdown in the country.
Christians, especially, are a very vulnerable community. Most of the Christians are daily wagers and have lower jobs. They have very little savings and what they had was used up in the first two weeks of restrictions. ZBS staff are attempting to distribute survival packets to 500 families, each costing about $70. They include basic food for one month, plus masks, sanitizers and books for the children to be able to complete their school year.
