Nepal Update: Ruins to Restoration

Thanks to the generous contribution of DAI donors, five Nepali families just received beautiful new earthquake-resilient homes.

An Update from the Local Team

DAI donors

We handed over 5 earthquake resilient houses to the victims in Dhading district. Due to the constant rain, and obstacles from the government requirements, we were delayed in completing these homes. The total cost of each house was $3,500.

A Handover Ceremony was held on August 26th.  About 100 people came to witness the handing over ceremony. While sharing at the ceremony,  we also shared briefly about the love of Jesus who compels us to serve in His name to the destitute and desperate. Government officials, local political leaders and building recipients were appreciative for the support.

Surroundings villages and government officials are very aware of the work of Christians, which has glorified our God.  We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our donors who contributed generously to build these houses. Without their generous support, we would have not been able to bless the people and glorify our living God.

Size of the houses: 13 feet wide and 22 feet length, 16 inches width of the wall. The building has been plastered with cement from outside. The inside wall has been plastered with mud, which is environmentally friendly and keeps the house warmer in winter and cool in summer.
