Dick and his wife, Ruth, serve with DAI among the various people groups in the jungle regions of Peru.
Dick was born to missionary parents in what was then the Belgian Congo. After serving in Vietnam, Dick went to seminary and began 30 years of pastoral ministry. After his first wife passed away, Dick continued in missions, including spending time doing grief & trauma work in Rwanda after the genocide. Dick and his wife, Ruth, met when he was teaching leadership to church pastors in the Amazon basin of Peru. They have remained in Peru, teaching and assisting indigenous pastors and church leaders, especially in the oral cultures along the Ucayali River.
