Overview
In East Asia, the church continues to grow dramatically.
Young leaders often come to faith during their university years when they are first exposed to the gospel. Then they are hungry for discipleship, training and mentoring that enables them to grow into full maturity as a Christian leader. They also want help in bringing needed social services to their communities. They seek to understand Biblical models that will enable them contribute to existing efforts to help the poor and marginalized, so that they can do their part to provide for local needs.
DAI’s Response
After careful research into both the needs of leaders and the responses already in place for those needs, DAI has chosen to focus on younger urban leaders in this region, because they are underserved, but offer tremendous potential for bringing the healing power of the gospel to their nations. DAI’s non-formal workshops have been successful because of their flexible, interactive design.

History of DAI in the Region
DAI began work slowly in East Asia in 2008, listening carefully to the needs of local leaders to learn what would be most appropriate for this region. Now, multiplication has begun as leaders who have completed DAI workshops begin to train others. There is tremendous potential for growth and impact here in the future, as DAI’s work continues.
