DAI in Papua

Let’s empower local leaders together

Overview

The Wisley Family

Scott & Heidi and their team partner with the national church and local communities to provide top quality, Christian education for children in the highlands of Papua, Indonesia through the Ob Anggen Schools. Typically, government schools are only in session 3 days out of the month leaving high school graduates with only a third grade education and these communities were not satisfied with this standard of education.

Developing the character and skills of young leaders through quality education forms the foundation of Ob Anggen Schools. The Wisleys mentor young staff team of over 50 passionate educators who then teach and mentor hundreds of children and their families with the goal of transforming whole communities through passing on Biblical standards of integrity and effective leadership, like:

Always telling the truth

Stewarding money with integrity

Loving our enemies as ourselves

Working together as a team

As a result of their years studying at Ob Anggen, students:

Have an education level far above their peers in Papua

Are more confident presenting in front of group

Form dreams and careers goals they work towards achieving

Give back to their community through service projects

Rated R for Domestic Violence Pima’s dad threatened to kill him more than 10 times in our school office this week.  By the end of the meeting both Pima and his dad were crying and we had made a little progress.  I tried to help Pima understand that his father’s love...

We Are Grateful for you in 2018

We are grateful for an amazing year. We are grateful for the trouble that has made us grittier, the rest that has enabled us to carry on, the adversity that has forced us to depend on Him, the friendships that have restored our hope in humanity, the hardships that...
